The site of ancient Thisbe, in the foothills of Mount Helikon, just south of the modern settlement (Thisvi). Originally subject to Thespiai, Thisbe was later an independent polis. The acropolis is referred to as Palaiokastron, and the lower town as Neokastron. Both were walled.
