The village is Leuctra in Boeotia, built on a hill, 10 km from the beach Livadostras. It belongs to the municipality of Thebes under the Program Kallikrates.
Leuctra located near the beach Livadostra (Livadostrou bay), in which there is a small holiday resort where 45 people live according to the 2001 census.
The Leuctra was small Boeotian city, built within 2 km from the ancient Homeric city Eftrisis and altitude 375 meters. He became best known for the historic Battle of Leuctra between Thebes and Sparta, 371 BC Winners were the Thebans. In this battle became a great personality and the administrative capabilities of Epaminondas. Just one kilometer from the village there is a monument dedicated to this battle (Tomb).
