Add category
6-story office building originally completed as a 4-story store-and-loft building in 1913. It was occupied by fur and textile businesses in the 1920s and '30s. In 1946, Ost Hardware purchased the building and occupied it until about 1975, when loft dwellers began to move in. In 2008, a 2-story extension was added to the top designed in grey brick and glass. The new facade for the bottom four floors is clad in red brick. The ground floor is a broad expanse of glass and black metal, with tall transoms and very narrow brick side piers. The upper floors have three narrow center bays flanked by wider end bays of windows framed in black metal. The 2-story addition has more of a curtain wall, six windows across. A pair of small, square balconies with metal railings covers the far left bay, then continues as a fire escape over the center three bays on the lower floors. The ground floor is occupied by Bond 45 restaurant.
