chapel, listed building / architectural heritage
The St. Sebastian’s Chapel is the Worm’s bishops’ original Hofkapelle, who resided at that time in Ladenburg. Its name derives from Sebastian the saint of soldiers, to whom people also worshiped as a saint against Black Death. In the course of the Reformation it was made the Roman Catholic community’s parish church. Since 1875 it is the Old Catholic community’s religious center. The chapel’s interior contains several graves, as well as numerous impressive murals (Secco painting) and gothic architecture.
