Lone Star I Wind Farm, the northern of the two Lone Star wind farms, is located about 15-20 miles northeast of central Abilene, Texas, more north of than south of Texas Highway 351. Commissioned in 2007, it consists of 88 Gamesa G83/2000 and 12 G87/2000 wind turbines, with a combined nominal capacity of 200 MW.
