Estate home designed c. 1910 in the Neo-Georgian style on originally 120 acres by Willauer, Shape & Bready for John Herbert Johnston {capitalist, financier, industrialist}. Johnston served as director of Niagara Fire Insurance Co., Dolphin Jute Mills, and Agatine Shoe Hook & Eyelet Co. He was also a founder of the Metropolitian Museum of Art. Olmsted was comissioned for landscaping in 1910.

In 1961, the 42-room, 15,000sft estate was purchased by the Republic of the Ivory Coast for their United Nations delegation but is now in private hands.
