Does a variety of research for the US Navy and other military and government customers. Helped develop the ideas behind GPS, and in 1967 launched the first satellite to prove the concept, Timation I. Includes The Naval Center for Space Technology, which built Clementine, the first spacecraft to detect some evidence of ice near the south pole of the moon, which has since been confirmed.
