The Davidsonville Transmitter Site is an 900+ acre geographically separated unit. The site is responsible for projects affecting 27 high frequency/high powered transmitters, 30 antennas of various types, two digital microwave systems, a backup power plant, patch and test facility, a dining facility, and a dormitory. The Site provides high frequency transmitter support to various civilian and military communications systems in the National Capital Region, Andrews AFB, and deployed military units worldwide. It provides voice and data transmit capability for five distinct communications systems including the Mystic Star Network supporting Presidential and VIP communications, Scope Command's Global Command and Control Communications System, Telecommunications System of the American Air Forces, the Defense Information Systems Agency HF Entry Network, and the new Scope Command System.
