This railway junction at Lucknow Charbagh (station code LJN) is the terminus for North Eastern Railways trains. These trains were predominantly metre gauge. However, with conversion of the tracks to broad gauge on many NER routes, the nature of the station will change in the next few years. Metre gauge trains will stop operating from here.

One can change trains here from LJN platforms to LKO platforms of Lucknow Charbagh railway station from where other long distance trains operate.
