The trees here were planted here sometime after freezes in the 1980s caused farmers to leave to less freeze prone areas to the south.
Only one orange grove is still used today in this reforested land.
Four other orange groves are still being farmed in Clermont.
There are very large orange trees and some palm trees growing among the pine trees.
