St. Prophet Elijah Church

In the Urvich Fortress there was a church - St. Prophet Elijah which was located in the inner part of the fortress, in the central part of the ridge Sredobardie. Completely destroyed by the Turks during the conquest of the fortress at the end of the 14th century. During excavations in 1979 it was established that the shape and construction of the temple dates back to the time of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. It is part of the Sofia Little Holy Mountain.
