Introduction to the Mother of God Sopot Monastery

More known as the Convent, because of the existing Hilendar Convent, burned down.
The monastery was founded in the XVII century. During the fire in 1877, the church of the Holy Mother of God buried in the ground and the monastery vineyard, which is the same age as the convent, survived. It is a cultural monument of national importance.
