The ruined and overgrown site of the Roman and medieval fortress Bourdepto (or Burdenis, Burdipta) is located on the Hisarja hill north of modern Svilengrad. A civilian settlement and road station were located south of the fortress, alongside the Roman road. A few surface remains can still be seen, and several marble monuments with inscriptions have been recovered.
