Edirne is the westernmost province of Turkey, located in Eastern Thrace along the Greek border. It is named for its capital, Edirne (known in antiquity after the Roman Emperor Hadrian as Adrianòpolis). It has land of 6,279 km² and total population of 382,222 people.
