Located in southern Lithuania, borders with Belarus. Covers area of 453,92 km². Divided into 2 elderships and Druskininkai city, which is the administrative center of municipality.
Nemunas river separates municipality into two parts, nearby the river stands Druskininkai - the oldest resort in Lithuania, known for sanatoriums, quiet forest surroundings. New indoor ski course was started to built. In the southern part of municipality people can visit Raigardas valley, Liškiava surrounding in norther from Druskininkai has an historic value. Northern and eastern parts of municipality is located in Dzūkija National Park.
