This village is an independent panchayat.But part of savarppoondi revenue village. Rajammapur has a Tharmaraja temple as in Savarappoondi and Nambedu. This village people celebrate Panchali amman festival occasionally. There is an Elementary School. On the southern outskirt of the village a square tank and a small manadpa were constructed to drink water and take rest those who go on foot in the olden days to Melmalaiyanur and Gingee.But now due to motorised vehicles this path became defunct.-M.GANDHI.
