A Siva temple is erected on the hill.This shrine is called Ponmalainathar.At base of this hill,centre of Devikapuram Perianayakiamman temple shines well.These temple had been constructed by the rulers of Padaividu.These temples has 54 inscriptions.Devikapuram come under Murungamangal Purru, a revenue division. Famous for arhitecture and Stone Sculptures and also a school run by Sisters of Cluny.And this temple had its renovation few years back. At that time stucco works on Rajagopuram were badly removed.Use of Sand blast spoiled pigments of ancient paintings inside Rajagopuram.-M.GANDHI

  • Devikapuram is a big village, connecting Polur, Arni and Chetput. It is famous for the cattle fair. Good place for education Govt Higher secondary school, Chulney convent and couple of private schools. Again Devikapuram is famous for big ancient temple. One temple in hill top and other in the foot of the hill. Temple attracts lots of devotees during Pongal festival and Adi perukku.

  • Devikapuram is a famous village for Pattu (Silk) sarees, population about 10000, famous for temples, the only statue of lord Shiva known as "Kanagareeshwar" is washed every day with WARM WATER as the lord was injured when born. As the village is located near to the temple of "Devika" the name become "Devika Puram", Puram means beside in Tamil language. My parents Mr.A.Krishnan Naidu & Mrs. K.Premawati are living in the Village.

It is a natural village without pollution. this village is famous for TNPSC coaching in this area there are lot of educated and most of them are goverment employees.The temple in this village is renovated by my father and his crew with the help of kanchi sangara group. population of this village is nearly 14,000 the people in this village is highly conservative and traditional.
