The fortress has the shape of a rectangle, the sides of which are oriented according to the directions of the world. Today, the fortress wall is barely visible under an embankment, heavily grassed and wooded. The gate was located in the northeast corner of the outer moat, which was also the most accessible. From there, the road descended into the valley of the Cherni Lom River along the northwestern slope of Kerchan Bair. Inside the fortress there was a sanctuary of the Thracian horseman, from where votive tablets were found. During the "Imanyar period" in Bulgaria, collective coin finds of republican and imperial Roman coins were discovered on the hill around the fortress.
