The circus of the Seven Rila Lakes is the largest in Rila. It is located east of Hayduta Peak (also called Haramiyata), south of the steep rocky slopes of the saddle Razdela and Otovishki Peak and west of the peak, which is located just above Babreka (The Kidney) Lake. The circus opens to the north and is drained by the German River, which is the main tributary of the Struma River. The whole area is located within the boundaries of Rila National Park.
