Karopani Natural Deer Park

India / Madhya Pradesh / Dindori /

Karopani is a small village just fifteen Kms from Dindori, the District Headquarter. The village is known for its deer that can be seen frolicking around the place at any point of time. The black bucks found here are supposed to be one of the rarest of the antilopes. The verdant fields where these deer play all the day along are surrounded from all side by mountains and hills all covered with lush green saal forests.

The deer have been living in this village for many decades and no one really knows where they came from or how long exactly have they been here. The villagers have developed a special rapport with these innocent animlas and seem to be really fond of them. The villagers must be given credit for the protection of these animals from the poachers all these years. The villagers reckon it to be their responsibility to protect the deer.

Despite the fact that these animals feed on the surrounding fields of the villagers, they are being fondly looked after. This wonderful relationship between the deer and the villagers is an example in itself.

Any body passing by this unique place must take out a few minutes to see for themselves the rare sight of how human beings and animals can live together in a perfect harmony.
