The village has a population of 2,128 people.
Formerly part of the Azaz district (Azaz subdistrict), and now part of the Efrîn(Shahaba?) Canton.

Ethnic Composition:

Arabs 92%
Kurds 7%

Captured by SDF on 10 February 2016, as the Ahrar al Sham rebels fled from the village into the Air Base.
