The former Avery building of 1936 is a Grade B locally listed building. The recent extension and re-ordering of the interior means that the interest of the property lies almost entirely in the Digbeth elevation. This is a good, but fairly plain example of its kind. This building forms an important component of the historic character of the Digbeth frontage, and makes a significant contribution to the conservation area. The historical interest lies in the continuity it represents between the land tenure of the 17th century and probably earlier, and the present.
