Oil sands production project owned by StatoilHydro. The first phase of this SAGD (Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage) project commenced production in summer 2010, producing 3,500 barrels of bitumen per day.
Leismer is just the first development area in the large Kai Kos Dehseh project that will ultimately produce 220,000 barrels of bitumen per day. Kai Kos Dehseh is a joint venture between StatoilHydro Canada (60%) and Thailand's PPT Exploration and Production (40%).
