The Engine Arm Aqueduct is a 52-foot (16 m) span structure consisting of a cast-iron trough supported by a single arch with five ribs, each consisting of four sections with bolted joints.
It was built by Thomas Telford to carry water across his New Main Line to supply the (higher level) Old Main Line with water pumped by the Smethwick Engine.
