The colony is for the centre govt employees of Postal and Telegraph dept. The colony was build in 1956 and since at that time Postal and telegraph(Now Telephone) dept were same so the employees of both the dept lived here for quite a long.

Currently some of the quarters are assigned only for Postal dept and others are for Telephone/Telegraph.
