Arjan (also Dashte-Arjan wetland) is a seasonal lake. During the dry season the area of the lake become muddy and swampy and the level of water droops to few centimeters leaving a look of a pool rather than a lake in the south part.
This lake has a sink hole which is believed to drain its water to Parishan lake in south.
The wetland is a winter home for so many birds and would be a paradise for bird watchers.
Situated inside an important road from South to North of the country with a very pleasant wheather in summer, there are so many restaurants, car oil-change centers, and a gas station which extrude a big amount of pollutants to the lake, still with growing number. All this is in an environmentally protected area.
Many parts of the wetland's grounds have been occupied by local and exotic people which use them to cultivate different agricultural products.
Introduction of trout and carps into the lake has also disappeared most endemic fish.
