park, plaza

The second park in Chicago named for the City's first mayor, William Ogden. It was constructed on land donated by the Chicago Dock and Canal Trust, a company begun by Ogden.
Opened in 1990, the plaza originally featured a large clock with hands that moved around the clock face on motorized tires. The hands were removed shortly after their installation, presumably because of movement problems caused by snow and vandalism.
