This was the southern boundary of the original Anchorage townsite and was first a firebreak, then an airstrip, then a golf course, and finally a park.
Currently the park contains eight tennis courts, ball fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts, a skating rink, a steam engine and a Veteran's Memorial.
