The Port of Anchorage is the most active port in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is located just north of Ship Creek near downtown Anchorage on the Knik Arm of the Cook Inlet of the Pacific Ocean.
Opened in September of 1961 and quickly became the busiest port in Alaska. Over 95% of the state's cargo passes through this port yearly with over 5 million tons of product passing through this port in 2005 alone.
