Between the 2nd and the 6th century AC, Me'ez was a little village in the middle of a fertile plain with a max. population of 300. From the pre-christian period, a water reservoir , a meeting hall (129 AC) and a temple (157 AC) witnes that the village was prospering under Roman reign. The basilica was erected in 470 AC, a baptisterium and other buildings are to be dated to the 6th century. Today, the ruins hide well between olivegroves and are hard to discover.
