Time Record Storage (New York City, New York)

USA / New Jersey / West New York / New York City, New York / West 45th Street, 628-642

115-foot, 9-story storage building completed in 1922. Designed by Russell G. Cory, it is clad in grey-painted stone to match the shorter Manhattan Mini Storage building to the south, which has a similar design. The west facade has three large bays of plate-glass triple-windows on the ground floor, while the upper floors have bays of five or six light-grey metal panels in aluminum framing, with short window panes on top. There is a band course below the 3rd & 9th floors, with simple adornment on the piers below each one. There are outlined panels on the piers at the top floor, and a simple stone roof cornice.

The north facade on 45th Street is six bays wide. At the ground floor the west end bay matches those on the west facade. To the left, the next bay has a blue roll-down metal gate, and the next one has no opening. The next one has a half-width garage door, and then another full-width garage door at the 5th bay. The east end bay has a blue metal service door recessed in a surround and topped by a stone cornice with two brackets.

The upper floors have bays like those on the west facade, with five panels at the end bays and six in the middle bays. A mechanical penthouse level can be seen rising above the middle of the main roof line.

The east facade is organized into three bays, but with no openings except for small vents at the top of each middle bay.
