Kropyvnytskyi is an administrative center of the Kropyvnytskyi Urban Territorial Hromada (community) in the Kropyvnytskyi Raion (district) of the Kirovohradska Oblast (region) of Ukraine.
It is divided into two districts – Fortechnyi and Podilskyi.
The urban-type settlement of Nove is part of the Fortechnyi District.
Population: 219,676 (2022).

Founded in 1754.
City rights – since 1765, 1782.
Former names: Yelisavethrad, Zinovievsk, Kirovo, Kirovohrad.
