This place is Baulia near Rohtas. Its limestone mines place. Limestones are packed on a ropeway trolly here and carried to Japla in Palamu for Japla cement factory. Ropeway was used to cross the Sone river as there is no bridge. Wonderful arragement.
It was so developed place in 80s I can't believe.

My mother Edith Caleb was a doctor in Bauila in the early fifties. I visited her every summer from Munger. I remember friends, Chrishna, Bhebuti the nurce's son or nephew, Menu and Renu doctors Sucsena's daughters. We lived close to the hospital. Played in the soccer field and roamed the hills freely with no cares at all. We rode the water bufflos to the river, swam in there and flew kites. Made bows and arrows, that really did not do any damage to anything. In the summer it would get so hot that the water wouls dry up....BUT not where we lived. A well they called seven wells in one well. People from the village would come to fill water from there. On my mothere's request the company installed a water pump.
