Brooklyn College is a member of the City University of New York system. It was founded on May 15, 1930. Many of the original Georgian Revival campus buildings were built in 1935 as a massive WPA project to the designs of Randolph Evans. Additionally, the Brooklyn College Library contains two WPA Federal Arts Project murals entitled “Famous Libraries of the World” painted by Olindo Mario Ricci in 1936.
