A village in Orihivs'kyj rajon (district) of Zaporiz'ka oblast' (province) of Ukraine.

Already by 1740 at this point, there was a big Zaporizhiyan zimovnik. Since the beginning of the construction of fortresses of Dniprovska line (mid 1771) the buildings of the settlement and Cossack guards were partially used to house the families of soldiers and builders of Nikitovskaja fortress. This new settlement has received the status of soldier's sloboda and the name Zherebets (stands for Stallion) - in the XVIII century by this name it was called right tributary of the Konka river on which the settlement situated. After elimination Nikitovskaja Fortress in 1790 the settlement got the status of the village. And after 1864, it became the center of Krasnopolskaya volost' (little rural region, parish).
