Yurkivka in Ukrainian or Jurkovka in Russian. A village in Orihivs'kyj rajon (district) of Zaporiz'ka oblast' (province) of Ukraine. It received its name by sloboda Jyrki (now Kozelskij district, Poltava province of Ukraine). It was inhabited in the 90's of the XXVIII century. Prior to 1865 it was also called Aul, since it was founded on the spot the ruins of some old Turkish fortifications. After creating a volost' (a small rural district) here it was renamed by the surname of the local priest in the Beletsky village.
