Terminal 5A is the main building of London Heathrow Terminal 5. It has a length of 396 m (1,299 ft), a width of 176 m (577 ft), and a height of 40 m (130 ft). Its four floors are covered by a single-span undulating steel frame roof, with glass façades angled at 6.5 degrees to the vertical. The building, with 19 gates, has a floor area of 300,000 sq m (3,200,000 sq ft).

The Heathrow Terminal 5 Station (which serves the Piccadilly line of the Underground, the Elizabeth line and the Heathrow Express) is located beneath Terminal 5A. The building is also linked to the business car park via a personal rapid transit system.

Terminal 5 of London Heathrow Airport, designed by the Richard Rogers Partnership, was constructed from September 2002 to March 2008 at a cost of £4,200,000,000. It is exclusively used by British Airways as their global hub. An underground automated people mover system connects the three buildings of Terminal 5. The people mover system is accessed by the longest escalator in the United Kingdom, taking the title from Angel station on the Underground, which held the title since 1992.
