Terminal 4 at London Heathrow Airport, opened in April 1986, has a floor area of 105,481 sq m (1,139,694 sq ft). The terminal was used mainly by British Airways until 2008, when they relocated to Terminal 5. From 2008 to 2010, Terminal 4 underwent an upgrade to enable it to accommodate 45 airlines. It currently serves as the base for the SkyTeam alliance and several other non-aligned airlines.
