The Duncan was a Gearing Class Destroyer in service with the US Navy from 1945 to 1971, seeing action both in Korea and Vietnam.
Following her decommissioning, she was placed into reserve until July 31st, 1980 when she was sunk at this location in 2,160 fathoms during live fire excercises.
