Constructed in 2004, the 167,000 sq. ft., facility produced suspension modules for ArvinMeritor's Light Vehicle Systems (LVS) business group. In 2007, ArvinMeritor decided to sell their LVS group.

In 2009 ArvinMeritor leased the plant to Toledo-based Ohio Module Manufacturing Co. L.L.C., a subsidiary of Korea-based auto supplier Hyundai Mobis, which is owned in-part by Hyundai Motor Co. The move meant new life for the roughly 200 United Auto Workers-represented employees at the plant, which makes chassis modules for the Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV assembled at Chrysler Group L.L.C.'s Jefferson North Assembly plant.

The plant is connected to the global headquarters and technical center of ArvinMeritor's light vehicle systems unit, which was built in 2004 and contains 80,000 square feet of offices and 16,000 square feet of lab space. That building is currently for sale.
