This place served as the hostel for first year boys of IIIT-A from 1999 to 2011.Starting the academic year 2011-12 the first year students have been shifted to the main campus in Jhalwa and the facility here has been closed down.This came about in the aftermath of a bus accident on 28/3/2011 that claimed the life of a student and the widespread protests that followed.
