Originally constructed in 1972 and known as the Villages of Riverside, the 1,000 unit development adopted a zero lot line plan. The zero lot line allows for a greater density of development than that found in the standard single family dwelling subdivision. In this case less space is required for each house as the building is built right up to one of the side yard lot lines. The density nears that of a townhouse development, even though each of the homes are totally detached and owned separately.

Now this area is called Little River Acres. But this is where I grew up. Since then they have blocked up all the alleyways that ambulances could get through because criminals could get away from the cops through them and hide in yards and lose the cops. With how confusing the Villages were to navigate for people who don't realize the street names are all alphabetical in this area, the alleyways made it easier to get from one street to the next. Now you have to get out of that street you took a wrong turn into and go back to the main middle vein of the Villages. Best to bring a map ;)
