Cleared and planted around the 1780s and 1790s, these geographical features can be found throughout this area as well as along the St. Lawrence River/Seaway in Quebec.
These farms are losing to housing developments. These East Windsor farms are good clear relics of the farms that ran along the entire river and lakefront.

Comments

  • Most of the streets in Windsor from the river to Grand Marais and County Road 42 run the same course. The names of many streets reflect the original Farm owners as well.
  • This farm would have ran all the way to County Road 42, but has since been broken up by housing developments. Lower in the map you can still see relics of ribbon farms everywhere.
