Notes: This is the house that was featured in the opening credits and for stock photos of the Sugarbaker Design Firm on CBS's "Designing Women". It was built ca. 1882 for Angelo Marre, a saloon keeper, & his wife, Jennie, who lived in the house for many years, after which it passed through two prominent political figures (see above). More recently, it was sold in 1964 to Mr. & Mrs. James W. Strawn, who restored the house. Mr. Strawn & his wife Becky donated the house to the Quapaw Quarter Association, a local non-profit historic preservation organization, in 1979. It was sold again around 2003 and is once again a private residence.
