World / USA / New Jersey / West New York World / United States / New York
This Cathedral was founded in 1954 by a young Athonite monk (later he would become Bishop of Astoria Petros) from Mount Athos Greece as a small community church. As the Greek community grew in Astoria, New York, so did the little church into the Cathedral and center of the Metropolis of the Genuine Greek Orthodox Church of north & South America.
