The General James M. Gavin Power Plant is a coal-fired power plant operated by American Electric Power. It went into service in 1974-75. It's the largest coal power plant in the state of Ohio.
Sulphorus clouds from this power plant prompted litigation by the residents of the village of Cheshire, OH. In 2002, American Electric Power paid $20 million as a settlement to the residents to buy out the town.
