US coastal defense fort, 1898-1943 (Endicott System Batteries Arnold, Harker, Gregg, Krayenbuhl, Edwards), Finn's Point, NJ; built on site of previous 18772 Finn's Point Battery; Historic site, open to the public

Acquired in 1837. Designated in honor of Maj. Gen. Gershom Mott, a New Jersey native who served in both the War with Mexico and during the Civil War.

Formerly home to the 1st Company, Coast Defenses of the Delaware from 1921 to 1922, the 4th Company, Coast Defenses of the Delaware from 1919 to 1921, elements of 7th Coast Artillery, and the 1st Engineers.
