railway bridge, viaduct (bridge construction style)
A Class A viaduct immediately east of Liskeard railway station. Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. It is 150 feet high, 720 feet long on 11 piers; rebuilt by raising the brick piers and replacing the timber with iron girders in 1894. These girders were renewed in steel in 1929. This is one of the two tallest viaducts in Cornwall. Since 25 February 1901 the Looe branch has passed beneath this viaduct.
