John Underhill born 1642 was the son of Captain John Underhill, the founder of the family in the United States. The original home was built in 1678 with additions in 1756, 1860's and 1900. Underhill descendants resided at Matinecock Farm until the death of the last owner John William McKay III, son of Clarence McKay of Harbor Hill in Roslyn.
Purchased for $3.4 million in 2005, the 330 year old structure was demolished to make way for a new house.
