This play area has been here for a long time however has become run down over time. Despite a large cash injection and renovation project which saw new play facilities for children as well as security facilities, the playgroud has become a haven for vandals and stolen cars are regularly found here dumped and burned.

The main playarea is at the entrance from Moat Lane. There are slides and seesaws for children as well as car park.

The rest of the area is lined with paths and benches. It is a vast area and is regularly used by locals. The carpark to the south is often closed and is rarely used as a result. There are also tennis courts which are rarely used due to the poor condition of the fencing and court surfaces.

There are two large dips in the playground leading to rumours that a meteor hit the area in the past however these have proved untrue and no evidence for this has been discovered. Water erosion is possible as the area has had a high water table, hence the name Moat Lane.
